This is quite shocking. The last time I saw Jazzie was the same day as the most-recent SF Giants World Series Parade. It was at McAllister and Hyde Streets. I was on my way to work. I’m not sure if Jazzie was there for the parade or just trying to get from Point A to Point B. She seemed pretty health and happy at that time. Jazzie seldom missed a SoMa Leadership Council meeting and was very passionate about neighborhood issues. My condolences to all her friends (of which she had many) and her family.

  2. April Veneracion from Jane Kim’s office sent out the following text that might explain things better:

Dear soma family, I am sorry to have to leave you this text. You may have heard Jazzie passed away early this morning. She was in the hospital late last week for what she thought was bronchitis. Upon further evaluation, more serious health issues were discovered. She took a turn late Monday and was admitted to ICU. Last nite she passed and as she was surround by friends and family. More info re service is forthcoming. Please pass the word about our friend.
